Well, we made it through the day. Barely. Seth did great this morning, and although his durgery got off to a late start it went well and was over in about 20 minutes. Longest 20 minutes ever, I say!
After the surgery he had some trouble coming out of the anesthesia. He pretty much spent the entire day sleeping or screaming, and every single time he calmed down, he would cough or spit up, which would cause him to start screaming all over again. The nurses thought it might be from the pressure change of getting the tubes in, and it was causing him a lot of discomfort.
He finally turned a corner this evening and is feeling good now. And by good I mean that he'll sit quietly and maybe crack a smile as long as no one thinks about setting him down. We're about to attempt putting him down to bed.

At least it's over! Here are some snapshots of our day.
Seth looks a little underwhelmed by our early wake up call. I can see the judgement in his eyes.
He's a trooper. I forgot to bring socks for him. I completely forgot about the hospital gown thing and thought he'd be in his sleeper. Besides, we do live in Florida and we don't believe in socks.
I had to hold him facing out, otherwise he'd go in for the kill, even through three layers of clothing. Kid was hungry!
Chillaxin with Daddy while waiting for the nurse to come take him away. That was the hardest part! We both teared up like big old babies when they took him. I am thinking we will need a LOT of distractions when it's time for his implant surgeries. They're LONG.
So in the midst of dealing with my screaming, freaking out baby, the older kids decided to take advantage of my distraction and go insane and do an insane, stupid thing. It is bad! Bad! SO bad. In fact, it was bad enough that they were sent to bed for the evening at 4 pm. Oh yeah. It was ugly. But that's another story for another day. Hopefully tomorrow!
Thanks so much for all the prayers!

Awwww, he just looks like such an innocent little sweetheart! I'm glad to hear he's doing better tonight. The good thing is he'll forget all of it by tomorrow. Poor mama and daddy won't! Glad that's one hurdle you're over!!!!
Sweet dreams all!
Great job Baby Seth. The Kentys were praying for you yesterday.

Glad to hear he settled down and is feeling better. Hoping for a great day for you all!
So, so glad things went well. I can't wait to hear about the Ava and Jace story... I got your message, but not until late last night. I always know it's bad when I hear "your godson..."! I'll call soon. Also, hooray for the Grammar shirt! Love it, and love you!
Bed at 4pm...must have been REALLY bad! Hope Mr. Seth feels better soon and that you also get a break soon!!!
