Not Me! Monday

Ahhh, Monday! Thank you, MckMama for starting this fun tradition! On Mondays we can let lose and vent to our hearts content, all under the guise of telling stories about what we didn't do! Party on!
What a weekend we had! We got to spend an entire day on a beautiful ranch in Brooksville, where we let the kids roam free, swing to their hearts content, and ride ponies until they were bowlegged. Even Seth! While we were at the Ranch, there are lots of things we definitely did not do...

While on a nature walk across the back 40, we did not find a pond that was so covered in algae that nothing would sink in the water. My friend Cristina did not turn it into an educational experience as Ava decided to test the theory and throw the biggest thing she could find into the water to see if it would sink. I did not stand by and watch her throw approximately 40 dead branches in the water. 

Oops...or maybe it did happen, as evidenced by this picture. 

When John called out at me to let me know that Jace was climbing the gate to get into the arena and was about to fall, I did not snap a picture on my way to yank him down. I would never pause on my way to save my child to take a photograph!

When I saw John swinging Ava in a TODDLER swing 20 feet into the air, I did not freak out worrying about the rope breaking. Apparently she was not worried, however, as it's all she wanted to do all day. 

I did not stoop to using a lollipop to bribe my not quite 8 month old son into looking at the

 camera. But if I did, I would call it being creative.

 

I did not seriously consider getting Jace his own belt buckle before I remembered he doesn't wear belts, and if he did, he would need assistance in the bathroom for at least three more years. 

We did not have one of the most relaxing days we've had in a long time, and my kids are not dying to go back! Head and Heel Ranch, we love you!
