Chop!

If you have any burning questions for me, go here to ask them! I am working on a post answering them, so get yours in.

_______________

So I did a couple of things recently...I took my first belly picture of this pregnancy, at officially 13 weeks. We need a baseline, right? I had to be a little creative to get the picture as Ava wasn't in the mood to be my photographer today. I also did something else. Can you figure out what it is?

Can't quite tell? Let me show you another angle.

belly13weeks1

Yep, I chopped all of my hair off. It is really short. When I wash it and it curls up, it is going to be super short. But that's ok. I really like it! I needed a change. I'm in control of very little right now, so I figured I could at least control how I felt about my hair. I love that it's so short that I don't have the option of pulling it back when I'm too lazy to style it. Hopefully it will keep me accountable.

So, there you go. 13 week belly shot and a new hairdo!

_______________

Today has been a tough day. All three kids woke up at exactly 2:24 last night, and that is right when you do not want to be a single parent, you know? Seth needed to nurse, Ava apparently had a sore throat so she just had to cuddle, and I haven't figured out yet what was going on with Jace, but I do know he was naked. It took quite some time to get them all settled and back to bed. As a result, this morning was pretty rough. The puppy woke up at 7 am regardless of the fact that the kids were still sleeping, and then, of course, they all were up and about.

I don't think any of the kids are feeling great, or maybe the stress is just getting to them. They were all a little cranky, a little clingy, a little short tempered. Just enough to cause plenty of meltdowns, especially considering none of us got a lot of sleep. Unfortunately, Neither Ava nor Jace nap anymore, and Seth decided all he needed was an hour nap this morning, so we're all just plain exhausted. I'm hoping they all sleep in in the morning! Not likely, though.

How beautiful are you?! I'm not that skinny ever, much less pregnant! And I love the hair! Kids are sensitive to change, but tend to adjust quickly, so though they may be off kilter now, they should settle down soon. I'm praying for your sweet family!

That looks more like an ad for the camera than a pregnancy photo. You are so gorgeous!

1) I love your hair!!!!!

2) Oh my freaking gosh you look amazing. May I please look like that during the beginning of my 5th pregnancy? Pretty please?

3) I just realized that I'm not particularly inclined to get to the 5th pregnancy in the first place, so we'll scratch that last part. Except for the fact that you look amazing. That stays.

4) I am praying for you and thinking about you unceasingly!!!

I just cut all of my hair off and dyed it brown. You are right... it is something I can control. I love my hair... and you look elegant and classy!

Sometimes it is just nice to like ourselves for... something!

Your hair looks great! I keep thinking of doing that exact thing, but haven't had the guts yet!

El,

I have been reading your blog for sometime now , but this is my first comment. I love the cut and think you are one of the cutest preggo ladies I've ever seen. By 13 weeks, I was huge, or rather my bum was. But I think that might have had more to do with the ice cream I ate constantly as opposed to the pregnancy itself! Keep on keeping on, sister, and know that your whole famiy is in our prayers.

I love the new hair! It really accents your features :)

I hope the kids feel better soon. I don't miss those days where everyone is off from lack of sleep and wouldn't wish them on anyone.

Love the belly pic although you are so slim that it is really baseline..lol but that's good! I think you took it in the bathroom mirror since I saw a towel bar.

Hope you had a restful night last night.

Love your hair - perfect summer cut!!

Those tired moments are the ones where I pile everyone into my bed and put on a movie or a show that they all love. If I'm really tired, I throw in snacks just to keep them busy and content a little longer...then I can just chill and everyone is happy!

Also, I know it is difficult to ask for help, but I am SURE that friends and family would be happy to help out when you are exhausted. That's one of the biggest perks of having great girlfriends! Helping each other out when we need it! If I lived close by I'd be bringing you dinner tonight!!

Love, love your hair. I just cut all mine off too! You look fantastic-and you are super thin!! I have 5 and I just wish I were that thin again! (but I'm working on it!) Sorry the kids are out of sorts, but I think that's to be expected. They can't possibly truly understand what's going on-and it's probably a bit scary. I will keep praying for all of you!

Your hair looks fantastic.

I am sure that the kids can tell that you are stressed and feel the tension. This is going to be hard on them as well.

LOVE it! You look beautiful(not that you didn't beofore).

When my parents went through their divorce, my brother and I were cranky. It's a difficult transition, but they'll make it.

My mom has been a single mom for about 7 or 8 years. You can do it!

Love the haircut! I cut all my hair about two years ago, and CRIED! I missed my long hair so much. I told myself I would never cut it short again. But now it is long again, and I have to style it everyday...and I am thinking about cutting it after the wedding!

When I was reading your post and saw your picture I said out loud, "are you kidding me?!"... how do you get away with looking like that AND being pregnant? You are beautiful, El! I love the new hair do. A new 'do' is a good thing! It's a start over of sorts. I can't help but look at those pictures and wonder what on Earth John is thinking?! You have an amazing heart and you are beautiful on the outside. I know I don't know everything, but I do know those two things.

Hope you are having a good Thursday!

You look FANTASTIC!!! As if you could look anything but...

I got my hair chopped off the other day too! 7 inches - it was scary, but now I love it!

I hope you (and the kids) get some sleep soon. I love you, and I miss you!

Your hair looks great like that! You look so young and trendy! I am wondering where the belly is though :)! You are so tiny. I was wearing all maternity clothes by 13 weeks with my last baby! You look great!
