A Sneak Peek from Seth's first professional photo shoot.

My friend Chayil came over the other day to take some pictures of Seth. She is an awesome photographer and she was kind enough to donate her time and the photos she took to Seth's fundraiser! Here are a few she sent me.

This is going to be a short one, as we had youth group at our place tonight and the kids just left after we sat around telling silly video game stories for a while after we were done with our study, and I am tired! I'm too old to be staying up late, I tell you!

I do need some advice. Seth's GI doc wants him starting solids because his weight gain has slowed down quite a bit. Well, Seth is not getting on board. He's 6 months actual age, 4.5 months adjusted. He doesn't want anything to do with cereal. We've tried that several times, mixed with breastmilk. Tonight I tried avacado, because of the high calories. No go. He's not just having trouble eating, or dealing with a tongue thrust reflex, he is REFUSING to eat, period. I need to find something he'll eat, and I really don't want to add formula to up his calories. If anyone has a suggestion, PLEASE let me know! I make all the babies' food, so we don't do jarred food. I have tried both thin and thick consistencies, mixed with breast milk, etc. He is not having any of it. I am tired and out of ideas.

Now, onto a happier topic....these beautiful pictures!

Okay, I'm a weirdo. I know it, I admit it, and I'm fine with it. My babies were breastfed until they were 18 months old. They ate food too, but no BABY FOOD or CEREAL EVER. I wouldn't eat that nasty stuff and I hate veggies, so why would I expect them to like it? {{giggle}}

I gave them table food. If I ate it, they were getting it through the breastmilk anyway (my logic only here) so I gave them what we had in kinda mushed up form.... they'd gum at it and gum at it until they swallowed. I'd sit them in their highchair with us and put the tiniest little bite-sized bits in front of them and they'd eat right along with us.

I know I'm weird though.... =0)

PS- They're all fairly normal and functional after being unscheduled, un-routined, table-food-eating babies! =0)

No advice on the baby food as both my babies were eating monsters and couldn't get enough of what I pureed for them! Lucas hated cereal but if I mixed it with bananas he ate it fine. Sorry! But I just had to comment as I absolutley LOVE that picture of you playing with Seth! So precious. Definitley Need to Frame that Mama!

Gorgeous pictures! Good luck with getting Seth to eat solids. The only advice I have is to just keep trying.

I can't believe YOUR child won't eat! Have you tried Rice Krispie Treats? (kidding, obviously)

That picture of the two of you playing is absolutely gorgeous! You look beautiful, and so in love with that baby!

I would just suggest mixing some pureed fruit in with the cereal and milk. It will take some time for him, some babies just have an aversion to solids. Another thing you can do is mix up a little bit of sugar water (i know wierd soundsing) and let him have a little taste of it and then sneak in a bite of whatever it is you are trying to feed him.

I love the pics, they are so cute!

Wow. What amazing pictures... really that photographer must be the BEST ever. (: lol...

But what I really wanted to say was... my kids all started with squash. It's sweet, but a veggie. I stayed away from the cearels too. BUT.... have you seen thes mesh baby feeders... you can stick almost anything in it and it prevents chocking. Bananas were great in it! With Seth loving the teething thing right now... it's a thought...

I'm so in love with Seth!!! That black and white picture is WAYYYYY too cute!!!!

What size shirt do you want? I'll make sure to get one for you! I'm going to try and order them sometime in February--that way they are done the first part of March. They are going to be long sleeved white shirts with purple lettering (for the IVPF--it's purple).

That would be awesome if you guys were to make it for the run, but it sounds like you need to be in NYC where you can remember Eli. Although--we will have to get together EVENTUALLY and celebrate their birthday's together. What day in July is Seth's bday? Would that be weird if THEY were born on the same day too?

Love the pics!! The one of you two together is just precious!

As for the eating...The only cereal Trevor would eat was oatmeal and I had to mix it with bananas initially to get him to eat it.

Also they make (I believe they're called) nurser bottles. He'd just suck like with a bottle, but the hole is big for the food to come out.

Sophia hates all cereals... but I don't blame her, it tastes nasty. How about mangos or pears?? Apples constipate at that young I found. My sister has a spittin up babe too, and she puts 4 teaspoons of the cereal into the bottle (you don't even know it's in there). That would provide him more calories too! And you could use pumped breastmilk if you didn't want to do formula; or a combination of breast and formula if you don't have enough. Keep tryin!
