Thanks for all of your help on the food front. Seth does see a feeding therapist, who is also kind of at a loss. =) The muscles in his cheeks/mouth are strong and he is totally capable of eating what he wants to. We're beginning to suspect a sensory issue but he doesn't completely fit that profile, either. Basically, he's picky and wants what he wants! I make all of his food, so we can play around with texture a little more easily, so we'll see if that gets us anywhere!
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you all the food Seth has fallen in love with:
Ritz Crackers. He is IN LOVE with them,as you can tell from his expression in the next picture.
Too bad they're pretty much worthless as far as calories go, but I have to say, I'm just thrilled to see him excited about food!
As you'll also notice, his hair finally starting to grow back! Finally...in the sunlight, it's a reddish color...strawberry blond, I guess you would say. No clue where that came from...Not John's side of the family, that's for sure!
John's heading off to Vegas tonight for work...he might run into Mandy and Jack there! How cool would that be? While he's off standing on his feet for 8 hours a day at the convention center, The kids and I will be garage saling it up tomorrow at a friend's place, where all the proceeds are going towards Seth's surgery! She's been collecting yard sale donations from the families at Ava's school. Isn't that a cool idea? She's taking things people would most likely throw away and benefitting Seth with them...I am in awe of the way God works through people every day.

Seth is such a Cutiepie!!! Hope the feeding issue will soon be dealt with!!!!
He is too cute!
He gets more adorable every day! Hope the garage sale is a success!!
Too bad he's too young to eat peanut butter. There's a lot of calories and good fats in it. Avocados are the same nutritionally.
Look at that...I am eating ritz crackers and I love them face! :) That is so cute!!
Adorable!!! And what a good idea with the garage sale! Hope it goes well.
He is SO cute! He's looking like such a big boy! Hope the garage sale goes well!
El,
Just made it over here...SETH is gorgeous and I am happy to finally connect with your page...blessings,
The garage sale is an awesome idea!! Will you have posters up telling what "the cause" is for? Buyers might be willing to pay more if they know it's MORE THAN JUST a garage sale. Ya know?
Boy does Seth have so beautiful, big blue eyes. He doens't look "Skinny" at all either. He reminds me of Cam at that age. Yea, not butterball fat, but he doens't look unhealthy or skinny. He's gorgeous! =0)
Your Seth is just so adorable; I can totally see his big personality in those pics too;-)
He is just to cute! Seth is just a few weeks younger than my son Easton. It is funny what picky eaters they can be even when they are so young, our Easton has just started turning his little nose up at baby food but we are worried about feeding him table food because he has alot of allergies.
I am so glad to see that he loves those crackers...maybe you could make a spread of somekind with a puree to put on them..never know, might be a good idea or a bad one??? Happy that he likes something. Still praying for you!
So cute El! Impressive with the ritz... I just gave Sophia cheerios b/c Luke choked on EVERYTHING until he was like 1. But she is doing great- I might give her a ritz too :)
He is just precious! Keep the pictures coming! I just love looking at them!!! Have a great weekend!
How cute! Ritz Crackers....yum!
First of all...SETH IS PRECIOUS!! Too cute. I'm a new reader, but was instantly hooked when I read about Seths hearing loss. I'm a speech pathologist and have LOVED working with kids who have cochlear implants. They always amaze me.
I'm sure you have had TONS of comments about the feeding issue. It doesn't sound like a feeding concern or even a texture issue. It sounds more like he wants to be incontrol. My 9month old seems to be doing the same thing (no baby food, only things he can pick up,loves dry foods the most, eats small amts.). Remember, they say give each food at least 15 tries. My first child, now 2years, also refused the bottle and all foods when he was teething and only wanted to nurse. I will be praying for weight gain and for your fund raising. God Bless!!!
Love these pics!
Those baby blues get me every
time. :)
I'm following you, but sometimes it doesn't let me know when you have a new post. That's why I haven't been around much.
I'm going to make sure blogger actually has you on my blog list.
Oh my gosh. I have a 3.5 year old and a 12 month old and I never leave home without ritz crackers. We have to make weekly stops to the grocery store to get new boxes of "circle crackers." my kids LOVE them.

What a handsome little guy. I know we don't see each other often but I want you to know Chris and I are here for you and your family whenever you need us...and I don't just mean Chris...if you need anything do NOT hesitate to contact me whether it's on facebook or by finding my number and calling me. My thoughts are with you.
Seth is so adorable.. I saw on one of your posts.. the tatoo one.. that you apparently live in Tampa.. did you have Seth at TGH by any chance? my mom is a NICU nurse there.
Seth is just adorable. My daughter (who is 10 yrs. old now) went through much the same thing with eating. Now she eats everything in sight and is a normal weight and height. Praying all goes well with Seth as well.
Holy crap, could he BE any cuter? I WANT TO SMOOSH HIM WITH KISSES!
and YAY for a food he likes. Even if it is just a ritz.
Could you add full fat cheese to the ritz? Maybe use them as a gateway? (sorry if someone else suggested this. I didn't read all the comments. It's 1:30 am!)
If its any comfort, my 3.5 year old is 28lbs - a total picky eater!!! The best part is he still gets to rear-face in his car seat, so there is always a silver lining! Someone was to be 1 percentile, right?
