I have caught Seth on the edge of a smile several times tonight. He's vegging out and not screaming or whining. He is ok with being put down and not held every second, and he's doing his best to rip the pressure bandage off his head. I am starting to see small bursts of his normally gregarious personality again.
I think we're on the verge of turning a corner and I love it!
He's starting to feel better...Thank God! It has been torture watching him feel so terrible and being unable to help him.
I can't tell you how much your comments and prayers for Seth and for us have moved me. We are so incredibly blessed! I can't wait until things calm down here a little and I can start to catch up with my emails and blog reading again...I feel so cut off from the world! Also, if you've ordered bracelets recently, I know you'll understand that I haven't had a chance to send them out yet. The more Seth lets me put him down, the faster I'll get them sent!
I hope everyone has a great Easter weekend...if Seth continues to do well, I know we will!

Hello, I just found your blog. I am a pediatric speech pathologist so I'm interested in following Seth's journey. I have worked with many hearing impaired children over the years.
God Bless You. Seth is just precious.
So happy for smiles! Hope you guys are getting some peaceful family time this weekend - Happy Easter! :)
He doesn't look like he's in pain or unhappy. He is such a cutie! Continuing to pray that he has a speedy recovery!
What a wonderful update...Princess Leia could only dream of being so incredibly cute!!
Praise GOD!! I am so glad Seth is feeling better. I will continue to pray for healing for your little man.
Have a great Easter weekend,
He is Risen!

He looks like he needs a basket with a snake to charm.
Yay for better meds and feeling better.
Robbie was spiking a (pretty high) fever when he had his last surgery. It seemed directly related to pain. The meds would wear off and he'd be roasting again. They had to give him a tylenol suppository at one point.. that got it down to a "safe" point but he was still feeling ucky for a while.
But when things improved, it all improved at the same time. I hope the same happens for Seth.
Wish I could kiss his cute little cheeks!

It's hard to believe that Seth just had surgery. His eyes light up the darkest of rooms and he is just a bundle of absolute cuteness. I'm so happy that he is taking his recovery very well.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend.
I'll be thinking of your entire family and be praying especially this weekend for the many blessings that he has brought to you and your family. Seth is a beautiful wonderful boy, I hope he understands how many lives he has changed by just being him!

So glad he's recovering well! I can't believe I missed his surgery!!! I got distracted by my own stupid birthday celebration. Going to pray for Seth's recovery right now. He's so cute, even with Princess Leia's do!
He's so beautiful, bandages and all! I'm so glad he's feeling better.
Awwwwwwwww, what a precious little thing! I love that you can see the progression as he pulls the bandages off. You're right, he looks like he's got a bit of mischief back in him already! Woo hoo!
Take care and you guys have a HOPPY EASTER!
I am glad that he is feeling better! Still praying for a speedy recovery.
It is so hard to see our little ones sick or in pain. Lauren had tubes put in her ears (totally not the same, I know!) and when they brought me back after the procedure, seeing her come out of the anesthesia was horrible.
So glad for you that everything went well and are returning back to normal so quickly. Love the pics of him trying to take is 'head covering' off. Cute.
I'm so glad to see the meds are working. It's bad to feel miserable.
He's just like a baby, wanting that bandage off!
He is just SO beautiful! Glad to hear he's settled a bit. :)
Hallelujah! So glad he is starting to feel better. He looks so cute in the pictures:-)
Will keep you all in thought and prayer. Can't wait to hear that SETH can hear!!

Hooray! It's awesome to see that spunk come back. We always dreaded the wait after my nephew's surgeries. Those first few days are soooooo hard.
--hugs--
My mom said to tell Seth he's on a special space mission and he has to leave his bandages on in case [insert attacker's name here] attacks.
Just an idea to help him leave the bandages alone.
Oh, El, this is so wonderful to see. (I'm running behind with allergies!) I showed it to Sam and he LOVED Seth's "helmet"!
Hope you all really enjoy Seth's 1st Easter!!! :o)
I have been praying and praying~we have been on the road travelling for Spring break so I haven't had a chance to check in since before surgery. Seth looks GREAT! I'm so glad things went well and he is beginning to turn a corner. His first Easter and his first Easter miracle! What more can the Easter bunny bring?!
Much love & HUGS!!

Hi El,
I'm Ava's mom - it looks we are about a week apart with Seth and Ava's surgeries. Your blog is awesome. You have beautiful family. Your Ava seems to have a similar personality to my 4 year old Lauren. Good luck with everything I will be following Seth's progress closely. Isn't this such an exciting time?
Happy Easter.

I am so in love with his big blue eyes it is ridiculous! I am so glad he is feeling better! You really need to video tape the first time he hears with his implant turned on! I can't imagine that moment! Merely thinking about it makes me want to cry. I bawled like a little baby the first time my son passed a hearing test and he wasn't even completely deaf.....oh that is the best moment!
Look how tiny!
