What a difference a day makes!

Wow! Y'all are some amazing prayer warriors! Seth slept 7 hours last night and woke up smiling! He had basically removed his own pressure bandage in the night, so I took it off the rest of the way and cleaned him up a little. While he's still quite swollen, the incisions are TINY, they didn't have to shave any hair, and he just looks great!

Seth has been playing today and while he's still very clingy, he is a different baby. He is content and even friendly instead of just looking sad and tired. Because the older kids were going completely crazy, we went to a friend's birthday party to get them out of the house and Seth chilled in the carrier with me. It was really nice to get out of the house and be outside.

Tonight we ventured out to Target to get Easter outfits for the kiddos and I completely dorked out and bought matching outfits for Seth and Jace. I know it's silly, but Jace is just about to age out of the baby/toddler department and then I won't be able to find matching clothes for them! Because Ava and Jace, while practically twins, were a mixed set, I never got to dress them alike, and it's something I never knew I would want to do.

Apparently I was wrong. I'll post pictures tomorrow of our twin (give or take 3 years) boys.

We're going to attempt to go to the sunrise service in the morning...John has to work and we don't want to miss getting to go to church with him. So we'll be up bright an early, assuming Seth is still feeling ok. He is fast asleep right now, which I am loving.

Ava and I sat down today and talked a little bit about Easter and what all of it means. We're blessed in that she goes to a Christian school and so has been talking about Easter and Jesus every single day, but today she  was singing some hymns and in the middle, she stopped and said "He's in the cave now. He's wrapped in cloths. It won't be much longer now, and then the stone will be rolled away!"

She went on to tell me about how Jesus rose from the dead and redeemed us all. She said that Mary thought his body had been stolen, but was nmistaken.

She cracks me up. She's four and a half years old, and yet she is so aware and out there for Christ. She says she loves to love Jesus and today she told me that Jesus would have died just for me if it would have been asked of him...that I personally matter to him so much that he would have died on the cross even if I was the only one who was saved (She's heard me say that many times). She looked at me very seriously and said that  she loved me because I was her mom and because I was precious to Jesus. She gets deep sometimes.

Of course, then she told me that she wasn't sure if I was aware, but in June it will have been one year since she asked Jesus to come live in her heart and she became a Christian. She was wondering if she might get some presents for that, since it's kind of like a birthday.

She's a trip.

I am so thankful to Jesus for dying on the cross and saving each and every one of us from a life of despair and sadness. Even though we live in a fallen world and unspeakably terrible things happen every day, having conversations like that with my daughter, or seeing Seth be so blessed by people he's never met, reminds me that there's still a lot of good in this world, if we keep our eyes peeled. While I can't wait for Christ's return, and I can't wait to see Eli, I am so grateful to get these perfect days here in this imperfect place.

Happy Easter. I hope you all see God in someone today.

So cute! {I secretly try to match my kids, too! Emily is a little more opinionated about what she wears, but Alex could care less!}
Can't wait to see how cute they look! So glad to hear how wonderfully Seth is doing! He's such an inspiration! Happy Easter!

Happy Easter~! So glad to hear Seth is feeling better.
We too had the kids up before the sun for church...and have no cute photos to show for it. If you know any crazy tricks for getting 3 little ones to actually look at the camera, not poke/bite/push a sibling AND smile all at the same time, I'd love to hear them before our Easter Outfit retake later this week.
Oh, and while I'm theoretically opposed to "matching" outfits, even on twins, I somehow ended up with matching dressed for my 9 month old and my 2.5 year old this Easter. It couldn't be helped, really. There was one dress that I liked better than all the rest and how could I decide which girl would get it and who would have to settle for second best?

See, I think I should probably write that down somewhere just so I can pull it out all "So-there" like one day when one insists that the other is my favorite! :)

But seriously, can't wait to see the cuteness. Here's hoping the smiles are plentiful this week.
