Love it.

Have I ever told you all the passion with which I love So You Think You Can Dance? Oh my goodness. I refused to push my baby out until the winner had been crowned last year. Seriously.

And this week? Katie Holmes is on. Katie Holmes is another thing I love. I don't even care that she married Tom Cruise. I kind of like how crazy he is about her. I grew up on Dawson's Creek...it started sometime around my freshman year of high school and I was obsessed with it. I would watch it every week, tape it (on VHS!), and rewatch it a million times. Because I was so anal, while taping the show, I would hit "stop" as soon as the show went to commercial and then hit "record" again when I sensed it was returning. I needed to watch it without distractions.

My best friend did not share my Dawson's Creek love, but when I found a guy in our high school that reminded me SO much of Dawson, I made her sit and watch it with me. She was unmoved, but for the record, I'll state that after the series ended, she became obsessed as well and now owns the whole series. She always comes around to my point of view eventually. =)

I'll say it now, I am and will always be a Pacey supporter. I found Dawson condescending and smug and Pacey...oh my goodness, I could have killed Joey for all the times she ran away from the boy. The series finale made me so freaking happy I cannot even tell you. Except the part where Jen died. That killed me. KILLED me!

Anyway, I love me some Pacey, and to this day I will watch anything with Joshua Jackson in it happily and without complaint. But I loved the whole show. When I was younger I loved to use big words. I read voraciously and used words no one else my age used. I overanalyzed everything like crazy. When DC came on the air, I had never seen anything like it. It felt like it was real, like it could be my life. The only other show I remember having such a visceral reaction to is My So Called Life. Man.

I should get back to actually watching SYTYCD instead of just writing about it. I love it. Love Cat. And Ellen Degeneres is on! She is one funny chick.

Have a great evening!

I always had to watch DC at a friend's house cause my parents would never let me watch it at home. They said it was too risque or whatever. I still loved it!! And 110% agree with you about Dawson. Pacey was always the cutest and sweetest!

GIRL! I am flying down to FL to sit with you and watch the entire DC series straight through, pausing only for SYTYCD on Wed & Thurs!!!!! I did not watch DC the first time around b/c we didn't have cable at our house but three years ago my friend gave me the series and I watched the entire six years in about three weeks. One day work was canceled due to an ice storm and I watched 14 straight hours. And I am a HUGE Pacey fan. I have thrown out Pacey as a boy name each time I have been pregnant. The hubs adamantly shuts it down. (Boo on him!) And I am also passionatly in love with SYTYCD! I love how God can bring sisters together through blogs & technology. We have so much in common - from the fun things like DC & dancing to the serious and hard things like giving birth to a child knowing they will not take a breath in this world. I love you, though I don't "know" you. I am praying for you, hon. xoxo - Natalie Eve

Okay, girls, you all are making me feel really old all of a sudden. Dawson's Creek was on when you were in High School?? That's okay, don't mind me, I'll just go on about my business. :)

Happy Friday!

I never watched Dawson's Creek. But, have you ever watched Gilmore Girls? That is a good show! They use big words too, so I think you'd like it.

A girlfriend and I (both of us old enough to be Pacey's mother) watched SYTYCD together last night. During the Katie Holmes number, I said that she would always be Joey to me.
While my girlfriend acknowledged Pacey's adorable-ness, she insisted that high school kids didn't talk like that. Well,I can tell you that some did; and one of them belonged to me.

My daughter's social life brought me to Dawson's Creek. I became the back-up VCR operator when she was busy appearing in her own personal drama (ah, high school girls :))

It was impossible not to get to know those characters, what with all that pausing and un-pausing of the VCR during commercials. And it was impossible not to like DC, where my own daughter's voice could have slipped and quipped right into the dialogue.

My daughter auditioned a number of boys, but in the end she sacrificed the edge and banter, opting for a kinder, gentler model.

Turned out, the kindness was only skin-deep. And he's left her in a terrible mess. I don't know if it's for an episode or for a season. I don't know what'll happen next. All I know is, I want God to write (or, if he wishes, and I say this begrudgingly, re-write) in a character WITH character, who will love her to the bone.

So, does anyone know-is Joshua Jackson still available?

I totally share your love of DC!!! I watched it from the first episode until the last!!!!! Pasey all the way. My friend Nichole always liked Dawson more but my other friends never understood her viewpoint.

I so know what you are saying about Pacey! Yummy! The sad thing is...that I didn't actually start watching Dawson's Creek until a after it stopped airing! So there I was, a mother of two addicted to a show that played for two hours straight EVERY morning!!! (re-runs) And now I watch Fringe just because Joshua Jackson is in it!

I might be a little embarrassed to admit that I've already watched my favorite three dances from this week at least 6 times. And I might be a little more embarrassed to admit that I cry every week when I watch it. I've recorded every episode and won't delete them until August 22...the day I leave to go back to school. Kind of pathetic? Maybe.
