Quick!

The day has gotten away from me, so this will have to be one of those bullet pointed posts I hate.

  • My cousin Logan and a family friend, Jacob decided on the spur of the moment to drive down to Florida to visit me! I am so excited! Logan is one of Seth's godmothers and my sweet first cousin who I spent a few weeks with earlier this summer. They should be here any minute!
  • I found my glasses! Unfortunately, when I found them, the other earpiece had been broken off and they were chewed up beyond recognition. That would be puppies for you. Or children. I'm not sure who it was. But they're definitely ruined.
  • I love Jello pudding, but not the instant kind. I like the skin on the kind you have to cook and I cook myself some almost every night, after the kids go to bed so I don't have to share.
  • Ava just said "Check this out! I'm building a contraption."
  • I think I can officially say that Seth is crawling on hands and knees, belly off the floor! Very exciting.
  • Speaking of Seth, he is more sick than we realized. Prayers would be appreciated. I took him in for his 12 month well check and he's lost almost a pound, is severely anemic, even though he's on prescription iron, has an ear infection, and is showing signs of the breathing problems we went through last month. I couldn't hear the stridor, but as soon as his doctor put the stethescope to his chest, she shook her head. He'll be seeing a pulmonologist soon to see what's going on. The ear infection is worrisome because with kids who have CI's, due to the surgery, there is a much larger window for infection to get through the inner ear to the brain, resulting in bad stuff like meningitis. Seth has tubes, but they're completely occluded by blood, so they're hurting us instead of helping. He got a shot of steroids for his breathing today and is starting on some very high dose antibiotics and we're hoping that will get him going in the right direction. I feel terrible...he didn't seem that sick. I guess I've been distracted and didn't pick up on the signs.
  • I can't thank you all enough for being so nice to me in your emails and comments. I have gotten several emails and comments that have literally brought me to my knees in prayer, either thanking God  for putting someone who could say just that thing to me, or praying for all of your situations you've been so kind to share with me. Please continue to do so...I feel honored to pray for you all as you've prayed for us.

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! Tomorrow is 14 weeks for me...I'll have to take another picture to commemorate it.

Poor baby Seth! So sorry!

On a totally other topic, a friend of mine have a blog talk radio show and would love to have you on to talk about cochlear implants/infant deafness and/or carseats if you are ever interested!

I hope and pray that Seth feels better soon. I am glad that you have awesome friends and family who are coming to support you when you need it :) Sorry to hear about your glasses. I know it is difficult without them. I can only see shapes and blur without some help for my eyes. Hopefully, you will be able to replace them soon.

Have a great time with your company. Give Seth a healing hug from all of us and tell him to give his mama one back because she needs one too.

Awwwww, sometimes kiddos are so much sicker than you realise. When my oldest was 2, she ended up with a double ear infection, a double eye infection, and rolled out of bed hitting her head on the corner to the point where she had to get stitches! I thought it was just a garden variety cold when I headed off to work, and had my mom (who watched her) calling frantically telling me she had to go to the emergency room by the end of the night!

You should SO do the blog talk radio show. Followed by television and a book deal. Seriously. Baby needs new shoes!

Darn premature lungs!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that God speaks to your husband's heart- and he listens!

Oh no, poor little guy! I hope your precious Seth is feeling better soon!

Congrats on 14 weeks! I hope you post another pic soon. You looked fantastic in the last ones you posted - I love your haircut - and I'm sure you will in these, too. I am quite jealous, as I never look that good during pregnancy. (Or otherwise, LOL!)

You are an amazing woman. I've been impressed by your heart for God and your willingness to be so open with us on your blog. I imagine the outlet is good for you, too. I will continue to pray for you and your family. Lots of love!

Hi El - I've been visiting your blog for a few months now...never commented...I found it through Mckmama. After reading your posts from this past weekend...I felt led to leave you a few words...first...my heart aches for you at this moment...I have been through two pregnancies on my own...the first was very hard for me...I didn't know the Lord then...and finding myself pregnant, unwed and then left was HARD. My second pregnancy...just last year...I was married...I left because he was abusive...but having the Lord in my life...made such a huge difference. I know first hand how sad it can be...but I also know that His grace is sufficient.

I am in awe on how you have described the way that you are handling this situation and I truly hope and actually know that you will be fine. Focus on yourself and your babies...God is working on your husband...

I know it is easier said than done specially when walking this road...when I went through this for the second time I found my strength in Him. I had no time to dwell though I did after I had my boy...each person handles it differently at different stages...you will come out shinning!

We will be praying for your babies...Seth's health...your health...healing...protection!

Be blessed! And...congratulations on this new blessing!

Poor Seth! Don't be hard on yourself, El, it's sometimes really hard to tell when kids are sick. I've missed major things before too. I hope Seth is soon the road to recovery and I'll continue praying for his health as I know he has several long term issues.
Yeah 14 weeks! Ava...that is so cute! I love the funny things kids say.
