I can feel my uterus. And I have to pee all the time.
You guys, I think I might be pregnant.
Tomorrow will mark 13 weeks for me. I am officially waving goodbye to the first trimester and I could not be happier about it. Three weeks of a honeymoon period before I have to start getting shots once a week to keep this baby on the inside. Three weeks before I have to ice my hip for five minutes before the nurse comes in, flinching because she knows how painful the shot she's about to give me is going to be.
Ava comes to hang out with me early every morning, rubbing my abdomen and saying "Hi Baby!" She puts her ear down at the baby's level and talks about our family. She listens intently, then passes along a message from the baby to me. "Mama, I'm hungry!" "Mama, eat a brownie." Well, okay, baby. You talked me into it.
And by the way, Ava, we're not naming the baby Spot.

Ava is the sweetest girl in the world. I am the luckiest grandma in the world-now in the second trimester of becoming even luckier. And I can't wait to meet Spot.
Love you
WHAT! Pregnant? My word, Ellyn, isn't that something you should have shared earlier? I'm blindsided - blindsided I tell you!!
Ava's adorable. And so are you. Eat another brownie. You know, for the baby.
Sorry about your shots. :(
But... what if the baby has Spots?
Natey wants to name his baby sister "No Hittin". My guess is he hears that the most these days so why not!!
Spot is a good name... for furry four legged friends. lol
I saw a Baby Story where they named their daughter "Poppy". It annoyed me, but is starting to grow on my. Right now I love the name Sella.
Your kids are so sweet. Praying for you rest, comfort, peace... and health... as well as the same for your little one growing within.
I think Spot is a great name! Very uni-sex so it'll fit regardless of the gender. ;) Ava rocks my socks! he he
Where have I been? I did not know you were pregnant! Or did you just not share until now? Well, you will be in my prayers! At least you are past the first trimester now! YAYYY!!!!
God Bless!
Spot!! That cracks me up. She sure is creative. Go ahead have that Brownie Mama!!!
Ava is so funny! I bet she is wishing for a sister so that she has a partner in crime. She is at the perfect age to enjoy this all with you. I am sure that she'll be the perfect helper after the baby arrives.
Sorry to hear that you have to get shots :( I hope that they are easier this time around. Hope you are having a good day filled with sunshine, brownies, beautiful girls and sweet boys.
Cute!
And I'm so sorry about the shots!
What a sweet girl! How blessed this baby is to have such a great big sister!! I'm sorry about the shots-I am praying for this baby to stay on the inside for as long as possible...and still praying for your family as well.
Jen
El,
Here is a link to a blog entry that I think will speak to you...
Hidden Joy
I have been following this Bible Study and it is fantastic.
Blessings!
brownies? that is a baby after my own heart!!!
Ha! I think you should totally go with Spot!
Spot is a perfectly acceptable name. Heck, it is better than some of the names people actually give their kids. I so want to make fun of one of my relatives' choices right now, but I can't for fear someone else out there actually has the same name!
Awe, that is too funny! What a wonderful big sister Ava is!
How about that numbing cream? Erma or something like that? Put it on about 15 minutes before the shot to make it less painful?
Spot? :) I love it.
My nephew (now 10) wanted to name my firstborn (Ethan, now 7) "Scooper Tractor". He didn't get his wish, obviously.
He didn't have any great ideas for my girls, but now that I'm pregnant with a boy again, he says I should name the baby "T-Bone".
He's not getting his wish this time, either! :)
