Random Babbling

I love So You Think You Can Dance. Did I ever tell you that I was in labor with Seth when an elimination episode was on a couple years ago and I would not push until after the episode was over?

Yep. He was born soon after. Maybe he'll be a super great dance because of it, yeah?

Or maybe he'll be totally uncoordinated like me. Yeah, that's more likely. But in my dreams I could totally win So You Think You Can Dance.

Speaking of...Justin Bieber. What's up with him? I do not find him appealing at all, which is probably a good thing, considering he is about 12 years old. Why are 12 year olds singing about needing someone to love again? Ridic.

Also, is he five feet tall? Because he's considerably shorter than Usher, and I thought he was pretty short himself.

My friend Angie is going to have her baby soon...Wednesday, I think. I never fail to be slightly shocked when other people's babies stay patiently inside until it's time for them to come out. No emergency phone calls in the middle of the night, no crazy early births. I like planning things.

Hey, can I ask you guys for some prayer? Seth's had some setbacks in physical therapy, and we're starting to suspect there may be a neurological issue going on...he is significantly weaker on one side than the other and his balance is doing some wonky things on and off. I would love for this to turn out to be nothing at all, but if you could keep him in your prayers that would be great. He's such a sweet kid...I really don't want him to have to deal with anything else.

Oh, and this is for my friend Aimee, who I've been a terribly neglectful friend to.

She's adopting the cutest baby boy ever very soon from Ethiopa (I think, is that right, Aim?) and she's been asking me about baby wraps and I've been really bad about responding. I love baby carriers...although Evany doesn't, really. Luckily, Nora lets me sling her when I want a baby to cuddle.

I've had a lot of carriers and wraps, but I'm all about paring it down, so here are my two favorites and the reasons why.

Baby K'tan - (If you click that link and scroll about halfway down, you'll see a picture of the family and baby Seth in the K'tan!) It's a hybrid sling/wrap and it is much kinder to my back than a traditional sling, since it distributes the weight over both shoulders instead of just one. It's made of a nice, soft jersey material, and I love the stretchiness...but make sure to size down if you're between sizes...it should be nice and snug. It's my go to wrap for babies up to about 15-20 pounds. You can use the wrap in several different carries, which is nice.

Beco Baby Carrier - This is similar to the Ergo baby carrier, which a lot of people like, but I think it's a little less puffy and more tailored looking. I love it a lot. It has a nice wide waist belt that really takes the pressure off the shoulders, and you can wear your baby facing you in front or do a back carry, which is great for cooking and getting chores done! I'm not great at flipping kids onto my back, so I really appreciate the Beco's inside panel that lets me holds the baby in place so I can pop them onto my back without help or worrying that they'll fall out. It's pricy, but I bought mine gently used on thebabywearer.com. You can save a lot that way!

Aimee, you asked me if I preferred the Beco or the Babyhawk, and I definitely prefer the Beco, but it's just that...a preference. Others love the Babyhawk, but it's just too much wrapping and tying for me. I like simple, quick carriers I can get into and out of quickly. Hope that helps! I am thinking of you so much and can't wait for Harris to come home!
