Miss Vivi naps once in the middle of the day and goes down at night about seven. We are still fighting a losing battle with the sippy cup, although I think (knock on wood) we may have turned a corner. I have never had a baby take a bottle for this long! All my other kids were either off the bottle at ten months or never took one at all, so this is a new experience for me.
She's very into taking turns in conversations and she'll listen intently when you talk and then, when you pause, she'll interject something in a perfectly conversational tone that is complete gibberish. It's kind of hilarious. She's still not walking, although she will pull up and cruise. She just has no interest in walking holding onto someone's hands or branching off on her own. As soon as you try to get her to take a step she just gives you a dirty look and sits down on the floor. She is, however, a very fast crawler, which is not so great when she beats me to the trash can several times a day. She prefers random junk to toys pretty consistently, although she does love a wooden Noah's Ark set a sweet blog reader sent her for Christmas quite a bit.
She wasn't thrilled with me taking her picture this morning...she would rather have been eating lunch. Eating huge amounts of food is her specialty, although you wouldn't know it to look at her. Singing "Patty Cake" several times and making silly faces got her to let me take some pictures, but really, she was just looking at me wanting to know why I would do something so silly as pull out a camera instead of food for her. Seth was also trying to climb all over her while I took pictures, so it's actually amazing I got anything at all. Oh, and if you couldn't tell, Evany has boycotted all headbands and bows. It's very depressing. She obviously has no fashion sense. I've tried to lecture her about accessorizing, but she's not having any of it. So most people think she's a boy. Oh well. She'll have hair someday.
Happy Fourteen Months, Evany Jane!
