Ads, Anyone?

This blog has always been an ad-free zone. I feel strongly about "monetizing" this website, as the reasons that I am here writing, and the reasons I hope you are here reading, are not about money, but about connecting. Connecting through loss, through children, through Gilmore Girls, High School Musical, and So You Think You Can Dance, through ups and downs and through faith. Joining together to raise up Seth, who needed your prayers and your help to get his surgery.

If you had asked me a few months ago, I would have told you that ads on this blog at and point in time were not going to happen, period. I would never want you all to think that I want you visiting and reading just to make money for me. It seemed almost offensive.

But then, almost a month ago, my husband moved out. My current circumstances are markedly different than they were, and my options for getting out of the house and working aren't in the cards right now, as you may remember from my post about my conversation with the OB the other day.

I've been offered the opportunity to place Blogher Ads on this website, similar to the ads I'm sure you've seen on many other blogs. There would be nothing to click, nothing that you would need to "do." While the income would likely be small, every little bit would help right now, and it feels like a good step towards finding a solution to some of our financial worries.

So, I want you all to weigh in. If I put ads on this site, will you be offended? Do you think it's a good idea, or a bad one? Will you leave and never read again? =) Just as you've all been awesome at support and advice in many other areas, I want you input now.

What do you think? Thanks in advance.
