Zzzzzzzzz

So Seth's birthday party last week ended up being pretty crazy. I can't wait to write about it, but it's worthless without pictures, and once again I have lost my camera cord.

I am ridiculously forgetful.

This morning, I saw one of Ava's soccer cleats in the hall and I thought "Oh, I need to see when soccer sign up is."

I reminded myself several more times throughout the day, and finally I managed to make it online to check.

And that's when I got the news that the kids have to be registered by Friday.

Also, the kids uniforms arrived the other day.

Which means summer is over.

I mean, I know, I'm jumping the gun, but soccer signals the start of the crazy school year for me. Thanks to soccer and church and school and homeschool co-op, I will not get to sleep past 7:30 one single time until November. We have to be somewhere by 8:30 every. single. morning, Sunday to Sunday. I'll be running around all day, dropping off and picking up various kids, and there are at least two nights a week we'll barely make it home from school before we head for night time commitments like soccer and church.

Hang on while I cry for a minute.

Okay, thanks. I love sleep. I love to sleep in. I love naps. I love a clean house, too, but I love sleep more. And the school year screams "No Sleep!" at me.

I'm excited, too...our annual school picnic is coming up and seeing Seth start school and Jace head off to NCA is really exciting to me. I'm really excited about having a little time with Evany a few mornings a week with no other kids. I'll be thrilled to see my friends I haven't seen much over the summer.

But man oh man will I miss these lazy mornings watching Cake Boss and Dirty Jobs, cuddling on the couch with the kids, napping when they nap.

I'm on the fence. I am both excited about this year and sad about the summer coming to a close.

Which side of the fence are you on?
