Today was Seth's new friends day at school. He got to get reacquainted with his teacher and meet the other kids in his class, who are four adorable boys and two tiny, gorgeous girls. I had absolutely no idea how things would go, but after a short power struggle just inside the doors over his processors, Seth straightened out and had a great morning, exploring every inch of his new classroom and studiously ignoring all the other kids. He was especially enamored with a toy microwave. He kept "cooking" his food, then opening the door and reaching a finger in to touch the item and yelling "Hot!"
Then he did it again. And again. For almost the entire time we were there.
Jace, however, was shaking hands and kissing babies like nobody's business. Everyone seemed to know him and be excited to see him (Seth's new school is Jace's old school). It was so nice to see how much the kids and teachers love him. The kindergarten class of the school all stood at the fence as we drove away, waving and yelling "Bye, Jace! Bye!" One girl hung on longer than the others and yelled "If I find a snail tomorrow I'll try to hide it until you come back!"
It was basically adorable.
After that we headed over and picked up my Grandmother...today was her birthday, so we went out to breakfast and then took a walk. It was so much fun...we never made it more than about five feet before one of the kids was stopping to inspect something or other. It's been too long since we've gone on a walk like that, where there's no destination in mind and it really is all about the walking.
It was a good day.
And now, I have a test to go take. My classes have jumped into a crazy workload full speed ahead with no warm up. It's been extremely challenging, but I'm enjoying it, even though it's hard.
So I'm going to go work now...as Ava says "At least I get to study in the comfort of my own home!"
She's a character.
Here are some pictures of our walk today.
